Belva White

Vice President of Finance and Treasury

Belva White

The vice president of finance and treasury provides executive leadership to the Emory University Finance Division, which includes the Controller’s Office, Treasury and Debt, Integrated Financial Planning and Budgeting, and Financial Systems. Through these finance functions, Belva White oversees and is responsible for the financial policies, processes, and services of the university and partners with key stakeholders to assure sound financial decision making, positioning, and effectiveness for university financials. During her tenure with Emory, which began in 2002, White has served in various central finance roles as well as an academic chief business officer.

A certified public accountant, White earned a BS in accounting from Clemson University and an MBA from Goizueta Business School. White is a past chair of the NACUBO Accounting Principles Council and has represented the higher education industry in discussions with the Financial Accounting Standards Board as new accounting pronouncements impacting colleges and universities were released. She continues to receive requests to serve as a presenter and thought leader on various industry conferences and panels. She also serves on off-site and on-site reaffirmation committees for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

Throughout her career with Emory, White has demonstrated an action-oriented leadership style that values diverse contributions and collaboration from her team members and colleagues across Emory.
