The Office of Ethics and Compliance is committed to helping ensure that Emory University’s activities adhere to the highest legal, professional, and ethical standards. The Office of Ethics and Compliance assists university units in complying with the laws, regulations, and policies that govern institutions of research and higher education through education, assessment, assistance with policy and process development, auditing, and monitoring.

Kenya Mann

Chief Compliance Officer

Kenya Faulkner

Kenya Mann serves as chief compliance officer with oversight for all university compliance activities and adheres to the highest legal, professional, and ethical standards for our enterprise. Reporting to the EVPBA and the chair of the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Trustees, Mann leads the Office of Ethics and Compliance by proactively anticipating, responding to, and minimizing compliance risks to the university.

Prior to joining Emory in 2021, Mann's higher education experience included the University of Cincinnati and Pennsylvania State University where she led compliance initiatives as Penn State’s chief ethics and compliance officer overseeing the university’s comprehensive programs related to compliance training, athletics compliance and integrity, export controls, youth programs, ethics, and investigations. 

Throughout her career, Mann has been recognized with various awards from such federal and state agencies as the US Attorney General’s Office, Internal Revenue Service, and the Drug Enforcement Agency. In 2018, She was named an “Influencer of Law” by the Philadelphia Inquirer for her accomplishments in corporate investigations. In 2011, she was named as the “Diverse Attorney of the Year” by the law journal the Legal Intelligencer.

Mann has been admitted to the bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and the Ohio Supreme Court Bar. She received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Niagara University and a juris doctor from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
